from financial institutions with considerable experience
in the hedge fund space. They have expertise managing billion
dollar global investment organizations and know first-hand
what it takes to run a fund successfully and limit operational
risk.
Michael E. Griffin, CPA - Executive
Chairman
Michael E. Griffin, CPA - founded Spectrum Global Fund
Administration in 1998. As the Executive Chairman of Spectrum,
he is responsible for the overall strategic direction of
the company. Prior to founding Spectrum, Mike served as
the Chief Operating Officer of Fenchurch Capital Management,
was a Director of Kleinwort Benson Limited and served in
a variety positions within the financial services industry.
Mike has also consulted with multi- billion dollar hedge
funds and institutional clients which focused primarily
on broker reviews and selection, enterprise software reviews
and selection, fixed income operations and financial reporting
requirements, back office policies and procedures, and
marketing services including the preparation of marketing
materials.
From 1985 to 1991, Mr. Griffin served in several executive
capacities for Virginia Trading Corporation, a futures commission
merchant and its subsidiary, Virginia Futures Management
Corporation, a registered commodity pool operator. As Chief
Operating Officer, he was responsible for running the day-to-day
operations of the 70-employee organization. Mr. Griffin
was instrumental in consummating the sale of Virginia to
Quantum, a Netherlands based investment bank in 1991.
Prior to joining Virginia, Mr. Griffin was employed as a
Manager at Coopers & Lybrand, specializing in the Commodities
and Securities practice. He obtained a B.S. degree in Business
Administration from the University of Illinois and is a
Certified Public Accountant.
David J. Young, CPA - Vice
Chairman
David J. Young has held senior executive positions in the
financial services industry for the last ten years. During
his tenure in the industry Mr. Young has been responsible
for several corporate reorganizations and acquisitions.
His responsibilities have continually focused on gaining
operational efficiencies and improving financial reporting.
He has also researched and created a start-up proprietary
trading company in Dublin, Ireland that traded on the Eurex
in Frankfort, Germany.
Mr. Young joined Spectrum in March of 2002. Prior to joining
Spectrum he was the Chief Operating Officer of one of the
largest privately held specialist operations in the United
States. He was the President and Chief Operating Officer
of Midland Trading, LLC, a technology based equities market
making firm. Mr. Young successfully negotiated and coordinated
the sale of Midland to TFM Investment Group in December
of 2000.
Mr. Young joined The Arbitrage Group, LP, a hedge fund,
in August of 1998 as the Chief Financial Officer. He acquired
The Arbitrage Group, LP through an investor/employee buy-out
in February of 2000, saving the distressed fund from liquidation.
Prior to joining The Arbitrage Group, LP, Mr. Young was
the Chief Financial Officer of Fenchurch Capital Management,
Ltd., a fixed income arbitrage Hedge Fund. He was responsible
for all financial reporting and successfully developed real-time
income statement analysis of all fund positions in 9 different
currencies.
He received his B.S in Accounting from North Central College.
He is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed General Financial/Operations
Principal and a founding member of the International Securities
Exchange.
Carol Burke – Chief Executive
Officer
Carol Burke joined Spectrum in August of 2006 as Chief
Administrative Officer and General Counsel and was promoted
to CEO in February of 2007. Her extensive knowledge and
experience in the financial services industry has been
an integral part in shaping the strategic, financial and
operational components of Spectrum’s global business.
Prior to joining Spectrum, Ms. Burke was the Executive
Vice President/Chief of Staff and General Counsel of CBOT
Holdings, Inc. through the completion of its 2005 IPO.
Her responsibilities included all corporate, legal, regulatory,
legislative and administrative functions of the CBOT. Her
extensive knowledge and experience in the financial services
industry has been an integral part in shaping the strategic,
financial and operational components of Spectrum's global
business.
She received her undergraduate degree from Smith
College in
Northampton,
Massachusetts
and continued
her
education
at George Washington University to earn her Law degree.
