Through VBO, Spectrum creates and customizes reports tailored
to the Fund Manager’s needs. With the introduction
of Dynamic Reporting, standard reports can be segmented,
sorted and summarized in a variety of ways. Dynamic reporting
allows users to modify a core group of reports based
on
many levels of segmentation and columnar detail. Since
portfolio, financial and investor data is maintained
at granular levels
and a wealth of Manager defined fields are available, detailed
reporting becomes possible. Reports can be divided
by Fund,
Manager, Trader, Analyst, Sector, Market Capitalization,
and almost any other qualitative indicator provided
by Spectrum
clients. The ability to define the criteria of reports
and segment by desired parameters provides a more
interactive
and valuable reporting experience for fund managers and
their trading and operations groups.
Drilldown Reporting takes the power of Dynamic reporting
and extends it allowing managers to navigate through their
data to view the details behind the numbers. By clicking
fields within a report, another detail report is generated
on the fly, “Drilling-Down” to the exact information
required. Without drilldown capabilities, one would run
a summary report, come up with items to clarify, run reports
on those issues, identify more items to clarify, and so
on. Now, as you’re looking at a report, you can go
right to the detail you need without closing out the original
report and consciously running another one. Clicking on
a value within any of the active fields opens a new report
showing the details behind these items. In addition to providing
the Manager with the exact information they require, this
capability allows the manager to see the data flow across
their reports
all through their web browser.
Other features incorporated into Drilldown reporting are
external links and export capability which allow reports
to be exported into an Excel or PDF format.
In the sample below, blue headers designate columns that
have clickable fields. Clicking on the Income/Expense field
for AAPL (Apple Computer) will display the Dividend/Interest
Income report further detailing the numbers within the Income/Expense
report.
